Earlier this week I read these wise words from the world-famous celebrity and philanthropist:
“What is the gap? Well, that’s difference for everyone. My definition is the obstacle that stands between you and what you want: success, more time with family, a new car or giving back to your community. Every one of us gets through the tough times because somebody is there, standing in the gap to close it for us.”
I recently read the book “The Last Lecture” by Randy Pausch and it defines gaps (or “brick walls”, so-called in the book) as the things that let us know how badly we want something. Other people don’t bother to bridge the gap, only those that really want it.
Who is standing in the administrative gap for you? I’ve catalogued just four reason of the reasons why to choose a Virtual Assistant (VA) over a temporary employee to bridge that gap for you.
1) Experience: The Virtual Assistant community is a group of professionals who are largely former corporate employees committed to the highest level of service and quality. Becoming a Virtual Assistant is not an entry-level role. Virtual Assistants bring years of administrative experience and knowledge who already “know the ropes”.
2) Partnership: A good Virtual Assistant brings the value of a confidential and trusted partner whose success is measured through the success you achieve professionally and personally.
3) Efficiency: A Virtual Assistant already knows their way around an office and a computer, no time wasted on training. Generally, a VA will up-train on their own time with no cost passed on to the customer.
4) Speed: A VA can stay under contract even if you don’t use their services for a week or two. This relieves you from going to the temporary agency and waiting for them to find a good temporary fit for your needs.
Although in re-reading this, I cannot help but think of the ubiquitous signs and announcements in the London Underground that remind one to “Mind the Gap”.
So, “Mind the Gap”. Remember it’s all about saving time, energy and money – let a VA help you succeed. Thank you for reading my blog – I hope to have you back soon.
